Latest updates

Counting underway: The TSE is publishing partial presidential results. Follow the source timestamp and reporting progress in the results table above. Early returns can be geographically uneven and should not be treated as a forecast or a final outcome.

When did scheduled voting end?

Voting was scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Brasília time on October 4, 2026. For readers in Zagreb and elsewhere observing CEST, that was 13:00–22:00 CEST on the same day. Brazil uses Brasília time as the nationwide reference, so local clock times vary by region. Voters already in line at closing time are allowed to vote.

How are results updated?

Official partial results are now available. The table updates from the existing TSE feed as polling-station reports are processed. “Polling sections totalized” measures reporting progress by polling section, not the percentage of individual votes counted. Check the TSE timestamp above for the age of the displayed data.

Is a runoff required?

A presidential candidate must receive more than 50% of valid votes to win in the first round. Blank and null votes do not count toward this threshold. If no candidate achieves an absolute majority, the two candidates with the most votes advance to a runoff on October 25, 2026. We will describe a winner or runoff as officially determined only when supported by the TSE’s outcome information.

Final polling average

See the Votendi Brazil polling tracker for the pre-election polling picture. Once final verified pre-election polls have been included, the final snapshot will be recorded here with its cutoff date and time. Until then, the linked average remains a current polling snapshot.

Polling is an estimate of voting intention, not an official vote count. The final pre-election snapshot will remain separate from the official results above. Polling shares may include undecided voters or blank/null responses and must not be directly equated with valid-vote result shares.
